Along the way, a small group of supporters followed the bikers, watching and waiting, cheering them along with encouraging signs waving, and greeting them at the triumphal finish line.

You can't do the race without the support. But when the family comes out, that provides an extra boost of excitement and encouragement that helps you through the long hours of boring biking. Thanks for help us along.
