Well I've seen this car on Top Gear. I'm fairly sure it is a privately built car that uses a BWM M-series engine, but is almost entirely carbon fiber, and north of $300,000. It's largely intended as a one seater, although the passenger compartment can be opened up. I'm still looking for it's name. I'm fairly sure it's German sounding. I'll keep looking.
Yay!! I got Ryan to comment!! You are very close on the price. Just a little more than that. Yes, it has a BMW engine. The name is not German but Latin. Hint: The "truth" shall set you free.
I just checked and Ryan, you are right about the M-series engine too. Very good. More hints: It has a choice of two BMW M-sourced powertrains – 480hp V8 or 600hp V10 – it hits 60 mph from a standstill in the three-second range en route to a top speed over 200 mph.
That was the clue I needed. The car in question is the Veritas RS3 with a starting price of $375,000. I wasn't able to locate it earlier because the Veritas wiki site only referred to their 1950's projects.
If anyone would like to feel the exhilaration of such a car check out the clip below.

picture is not working on my computer. I would have no idea anyways....
BMW Spider
$150,000
(I'm guessing, I have no idea)
Thanks for guessing, but no, it's not the Spider and your price is way too low. Another hint: Only 50 of these are being produced.
