Slate is the new Stainless

Over the past few years we have done some things to the new (can it really be 6years old now?) house in Tucson.  Rooms painted, rock landscaping in the back yard, added furniture, etc.  However, that was "doing" not "redoing" what was already here, so this is a first.

In the past week or so, we replaced the kitchen sink, faucet and dishwasher.  These were things I've wanted to do since day one.  The old sink was too shallow, faucet hideous, and the old dishwasher was bottom of the line, noisy and not great at actually washing dishes.

I decided to follow Suzy's lead and go with the Slate color for the sink and then continued that on with the dishwasher.  Since having a stainless steel refrigerator I have vowed never to get stainless again.  I know it seems to be the only acceptable color for appliances now, but it is anything but stainless.  The constant fingerprints and other marks are so annoying. I'm just not willing to spend time every day cleaning the refrigerator doors.  Does everyone else really do this?  Maybe slate will catch on as the new "must have" color for kitchen appliances and I will somehow be at the front of the curve on this.

Happy New Year 2015!

With snow in AZ.

View of the backyard with snow.  It's only less than an inch and did not stick on the roads, but still....... this is not supposed to happen here.  Notice sun is still shining.  Happy New Year!
